Events Calendar for 2008

DHMRS EXHIBITION 2008 -
Luckily we had fine weather on 26th April for our exhibition. 17 layouts were on view supported by members of the trade and overall the event was considered a great success.

ST ALBANS 2008 CMRA exhibition -
Members of the Society judged the award of the Denis Moore trophy for the best scenic layout at the exhibition.
In 2008 this was awarded to the Alkham layout by Ian Hollis.

CMRA Representatives meeting -
Was hosted by the DHMRS on Saturday 16th February, Havil was run for their entertainment.

MIDDLETON ON DVD -
Our Middleton layout which appeared in the May 2006 edition of Railway Modeller was filmed in January 2007 and appears for around ten minutes in Peco's 2006 Railway Modeller CD Annual.

HAVIL JUNCTION ON TELEVISION -
Our other layout, Havil junction, recently appeared in the CBeebies programme Numberjacks.

HAVIL JUNCTION -
Havil is running regularly on club nights (1st Wednesday in month themed running, 2nd & 4th maintenance & free for all, 3rd programme running & training). Castle Havil has been completed and the surrounding scenics are being finalised.

HORNBY DUBLO -
The layout's first exhibition outing Sept. 2007 at St Albans went so well that it's been asked back next year!

MIDDLETON -
Detailed design of the 180 degree boards to convert the layout into "U" shape have been completed and work will commence soon on the new boards.

On30 LOGGING LAYOUT -
Design of a small DCC controlled exhibition layout is virtually complete and construction of the boards is starting.

TEST TRACK -
The multigauge test track (gauges - N, TT, 00, Hornby 3 rail, 0 & G/1) is completed and available.

Bideford Light Railway -
Bideford, a club members layout, represented the DHMRS at the G Gauge Society winter meet, Roxwell 18th November 2007. This layout will also represent the DHMRS at Chelmsford exhibition in October 2008

		CHRISTMAS DINNER 2008 23rd January An enjoyable meal was had by 17 of our members, during which a presentation was made to Ken Brown in recognition of his contribution to the Society over the 45 years he has been a member.
