The Charley Hunt Award

Charley was a founding member and president of the KSONS and a guiding force behind our early successes. He was instrumental in bringing the 1991 National NTRAK Convention to Louisville, and also helped organize the 1995 Great lakes Region NTRAK Convention. But far more than that, Charley was a great inspiration for all KSONS. For all that he did for us, and meant to us, we present the award that carries his name. This award is presented to a dedicated member who has made a significant contribution to the the success of the KSONS.

Directions:

From Louisville, take I-71 East towards Cincinnatti

Get off at the Buckner Exit #18

Turn left at the bottom of the hill onto Hwy 393

Go back under I-71 and across the railroad tracks to the “Tee” at Hwy 146

Turn right on Hwy 146

The firehouse is 500 yards up the road on your left just across the highway from a brick Baptist Church

December 10th: Business Meeting / Christmas Party at Buckheads on Bardstown Road at Gardiner Lane, 6:00 PM. There will be a gift exchange between the fellows and a gift exchange between the ladies ($20.00 limit). Bring a gift if you'd like to participate in the fun...I am working on donations for door prizes. We will also vote on the Charley Hunt award at the party; award to be given out in January.

December 26th: Open House at John Voller's. John will host an open house at his home on that Saturday. Hours are 11:00am - 4:00pm.  It will be casual/informal and offer everyone a chance to show off the trains/locomotives that Santa brought.  (Bring your own rootbeer and chips).
 

Down the Pike: KSONS scheduled to appear:
               
      December 5th and 6th: Open house at the Buckner Fire House, with the K&I club.  N-Trak and T-Trak layouts at the event.

January 9th and 10th, 2010:  Great Train Expo at Convention Center.  Details to follow.

                November 21st:  NMRA Division 8 show and swap meet at Highland  Post, American Legion, 2919 Bardstown Road.  10-3.
