Information

The National Capital Trackers (Trackers) are an informal group of model train enthusiasts in the Washington D.C. area who share an interest in operating three rail O-Gauge trains. The members construct portable layout modules that are joined together to create the club's large operating layouts. The club's objectives are to provide a means for local train enthusiasts to operate O-Gauge trains; and to promote our hobby through the operation of our railroad at public events.

Public appearances by the Trackers have included the Fairfax County Fair, the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of American History, the B&O Railroad Museum, Brunswick Maryland Railroad Days, Manassas Rail Fest, the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum Model Train Exhibit, the Fall for Fairfax Festival, and various local train shows and malls.

Since 1994, in cooperation with Artiso-Craft Trains Inc. the Pageant of Peace, Inc., Bill Frank, and other local train clubs, the Trackers help construct and operate the National Christmas Tree Railroad. This is an outdoor #1 Gauge (Standard) railroad around the National Christmas Tree. The National Christmas Tree is located across the street from the White House on the Ellipse, in what is known as the President's Park.
