<< Community Activities - Train Shows >>

Each year the Club participates in several train shows within an hours drive of Warrenton.

The HO scale modules are constructed to an NMRA compatible specification.  This allows Club members to interconnect their modules into different size and shape layouts based upon the amount of space available at a train show. The modules can and sometimes are combined with modules from other clubs to make even larger layouts. The layouts are powered and controlled by a digital command and control system (DCC) manufactured by Digitrax.

The following shows are typically supported by the Piedmont Railroaders each year:

Prince William Boy Scout Troop #964 - (Scout photos) a multi-scale model train show held in March.  The Piedmont Railroaders combine their HO scale modules with those from two other clubs and the Boy Scouts to form a large layout of more than 100 modules in all.

Manassas Railway Festival -  (Manassas photos) a street festival held on the first Saturday in June in the area of the Amtrak Station in downtown Manassas featuring multiple train layouts, railroad equipment on display, excursion train and railroad related vendors.
