There aren't many building on this railway - I concentrate on trains !

You can click on any of these pictures to expand them.
It may be worthwhile to open
the plan of the line (use your 'Back' button to return here).

Soukup's emporium (1) This is the main store at Lilyvale. It started out as a Pola western saloon but with a corrugated iron verandah added and window cosmetics it changed to a store.

Hunter's hotel (2) Hunter's Hotel at Lilyvale was made by my wife from pottery. It's a typical Aussie design, but the slight wobbles due to the firing process give it an Ettamogah pub feel.

pub verandah (3) Drinkers at Hunter's Railway Hotel can keep an eye on Lilyvale station for the next train.

SM's house

(4) The station Master's house with its bull-nose verandah, is also pottery by my wife.

19 class taking water

(5) The only building at Termite so far is the engine shed. Here the 19 class is taking a drink. The shed is mad from individual balsa strips glued over a ply shell. The internal framing is complete too. Windows are computer printed on clear 'overhead projector' sheets.

Titree goods shed

(6) The goods shed at Titree is made from cardboard and balsa.

butchers shop

(7) To 'populate' the township of Ti-tree I will need quite a few buildings. Until I can build good models, I'm experimenting with some rough cardboard mock-ups. This one is a Butchers shop and is made from a 4 litre wine cask, with extra cardboard for the roof. I printed some weatherboard siding (downloaded from Internet) and drew some doors and windows in Excel and used coloured pencils

Melaleuca Station Master's house

(8) Melaleuca Station Master's house is made from styrene sheet over 3-ply wood, with corrugated drink cans for the roof. Note the ant caps on the stumps and curtains.

men's toilet

(9) The Men's toilet at Melaleuca is made from corrugated drink cans over a balsa frame.

stockyards

(10) The stockyards at Melaleuca are made from split oregon timber. Cows from $2 shop. A recording of moo-ing cows plays to add 'atmosphere'.

Hall

(11) Lilyvale Memorial Hall is made from individual styrene strips glued over plywood.

goods shed & crane

(12) Melaleuca goods shed is made from plywood covered in corrugated plastic sheeting> The crane is scratchbuilt from styrene and old gears, and it works.

St Hebels

(13) St Hebels church at Lilyvale is made from Hebel blocks, with stained glass windows and belfry.

St Hebels

(14) This small weighbridge is based on that at Gundagai. The building is styrene and the weighbridge is plastic dampcourse.
