As we leave Melaleuca, we cross another timber truss bridge made from tomato stakes. Ducking under this allows access to the middle of the big horseshoe trestle, which we now enter. It's 4' high and on a 5' radius curve and a 1:50 grade. These first 2 old pics do not show the later railway further down the yard.
In this one you can see Ti-tree in the background.
and this one shows Sandstone in the background. Note the yellow 'warning' landmark signal. It actually denotes the start of electrical section for Melaleuca.
After the trestle, there is a 10' long girder bridge to finally get the track down to ground level. (The lower track is coming up from Ti-tree.)
