Rocky Mountain Region Notes

Great Train Expo - RMR NMRA Booth is planned for the Great Train Expo. Rich Flammini inquired if we wanted to do clinics again. It was noted that we had very high interest with people watching clinics in the past, and drew many people into the area around the booth. It was also requested to gain participation from the other Denver area Divisions.

Douglas Railroad Days - During this event held the same time as Cheyenne Frontier Days, Rich recruited 8 new members to the NMRA. Great work!

Greeley Convention - So far, the deposit money has been refunded to the Region but no convention report as yet.

Wyoming Division - It was noted that our Wyoming brethren face much greater obstacles for attending Divison meets than the Sunrise members have for meeting in Aurora. They have two meets a year, one in Sheridan (in the fall) and one in Cody (in the spring), with members travleing from 150 to 250 miles. So, we are apparently lucky to have many members relatively close to a central location.

Summer Conventions - Nate echoed our Region President's sentiments, encouraging members to take advantage of local conventions. Every year, the Rocky Mountain Prototype Modeler's Meet occurs in Littleton, and this year, the National Garden Railway Convention was in Denver. Of course, the National Narrow Gauge Convention is in Colorado Springs Sept 16-19. Localconventions for most historical societies, national, NMRA and other various organizations are listed on our calendar every year on our website.

New Mexico State Fair - Rich stated that the Rio Grande Valley Club layout will host the Region's NMRA booth during the New Mexico State Fair, which sees thousands of visitors every year.
