Since the end and demise of the Buckinham Square Mall, home to the Sunrise Club Modular Layout (below), the NMRA Sunrise Division is currently designing a sectional layout that can be set up for train shows and conventions. This layout will not be modular in the traditional sense, that is, it will have a single set up configuration with integrated and continous scenery across base sections, which will be locked together.
This new layout will be HO, and use Digitraxx for DCC operation.
Until January 2007, the Sunrise Modular Layout Club was located in Buckingham Square Mall, Aurora Colorado. Unfortunately, with the closing of Buckingham Square Mall, which is to be remodeled into a modern outdoor shopping plaza, the club is officially history. The modules have been split up among club members and are currently in scattered homes.
We modeled HO scale, with a generic theme enabling the era to vary between early steam and present day locomotives. While at Buckingham Square, we had groups that met to run operating sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We used Digitrax Digital Command Control.
We previously hosted NMRA Sunrise Division meetings, and although we shared the same name as the local Division, we were not an official NMRA club.
See the photos below for some of the action from our modular layout! Thanks for visiting!
