Ambroid Wood Craftsman Kits

Welcome to my Ambroid information page!

When I first saw an ad for one of Ambroid's "1 of 5000" cars back in 1958 I took an interest in those cars. It wasn't until 45 years later (in the summer of 2003) that I bought my first kit. That made me think about the history of those cars and the company, but when I tried to learn about it, I found that there was very little, if anything, available so I decided to put together as much as I could find on the Internet about the Ambroid cars. One thing lead to another, and with some very good help from a couple of fellow model railroaders I have put together the information you can see on the following pages.

I hope this will be a place for every modeler that appreciates the fine quality wood craftsman kits that were produced in the '50s and '60s by various companies. On this site, you will find information about the Ambroid kits (and some side-notes for kits from other manufacturers).
