About the Online Amtrak Schedule Project...

The project to develop these schedules was started in 1994 by Matthew Mitchell. The project then grew into a volunteer effort to maintain the schedules as a collaborative project by the newsgroup misc.transport.rail.americas, and other network users.

By popular demand, and with Amtrak's authorization, the project will continue, as a complement to the official site at www.amtrak.com We look forward to continuing to serve you.

All of us are pleased at how useful this service has been; we estimate peak usage at 70,000 hits per month from 20,000 or more users. Over the duration of the project, we have been listed as 'site of the week' by:
