Using the Northeast Corridor Schedules

The complete Northeast Corridor schedule is rather long, so it is subdivided for easier use.

Several different files are available for the Washington-New York segment. Most passengers take the formerly unreserved trains which Amtrak now calls Regional: select the desired direction, weekday or weekend. These schedules include all the New York - Washington trains. Amtrak initiated premium fare, all reserved Acela Express service between Boston and Washington. The schedules for the Acela Express trains have been integrated with the other schedules.

For service to and from points on the Hartford-Springfield branch, see the tables labeled "Springfield".
For service to and from all other points north of New York, including all service to New Haven, use the Boston timetables.

Because some trains are faster than others, these schedules cannot be in correct order at all stations. Therefore, check a few columns each side of your desired departure time for trains which might suit your needs better.

One pair of Boston trains uses the Inland Route via Springfield and Worcester.

Holiday Schedules: The Northeast Corridor trains will typically run on a Sunday schedule on major holidays including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas and New Years Day. In addition, trains the day before will typically operate on a Saturday schedule. Amtrak issues a special schedule for expanded service operated over an extended Thanksgiving weekend.
