About the Webmaster
Sean Gilliam is the creator and maintainer of Amtrak Florida, a site devoted to Amtrak trains in the state of Florida, and trains throughout the country. The Amtrak Florida project began in Feb of 2003 as a side project to showcase Sean's photos. What started out as a small collection of 50 or so pictures, has grown to a library of images from not only Sean himself, but other contributors from all over the country have images on the site as well. Sean plans to make Amtrak Florida the best site dedicated to Amtrak trains in the state of Florida. As for Sean's life outside this little website, he is usually found on board Amtrak trains riding throughout the state, most days racking up 500 miles or more. Sean has many friends throughout the industry that he knows well, and has made him the envy of many railfans. Sean is a member of the Ft. Lauderdale Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and also maintains their website The Lauderdale Switcher. Besides trains, Sean is an Alumni of Cypress Bay High School in Weston, FL. Sean is now a resident of Tallahassee, FL where he attends Florida State University with a Business Intent Major. Sean also loves Theater, which will always be his other passion in life. Following college Sean hopes to hire out with a railroad (preferably Amtrak) as Engineer somewhere in the U.S. (or Canada if he gets really desperate). Sean hopes that this website can show others throughout the U.S. what trains are all about within the state of Florida, and how fortunate we are to have the railroad system that we have. Rail Miles Travelled: 54,007 (as of 07/13/05)
