Built by Siemens Mobility in Sacramento, CA in December 2015 and numbered 661, these locomotives are the replacement for Amtrak's AEM-7 electric locomotives for use on the Northeast Corridor. The name "ACS-64" means "Amtrak Cities Sprinter" and the 64 represents 6.4 megawatts of electric power which is equivalent to 8600 horsepower.
