This car was originally built in 1957 by Budd for the Northern Pacific Railway. Conveyed to Amtrak in 1971 and renumbered 8047.  In April 1980, the car was converted from Steam Heat to HEP and renumbered 8508. It was converted to a Griddle Diner in June 1986 and renumbered 8552.
