Cedar Point Media Day 2014

After making the 3 hour drive back to Sandusky from Waterloo, IN, I headed to Cedar Point to attend Media Day which features 2 new family-friendly rides for 2014. Special thanks to Cedar Point for information about these rides! "Pipe Scream" which is a spinning ride that runs along a track over 300 feet long with a top altitude of 43 feet at a speed of 43mph! Basically, you sit in the ride's vehicle and spin around while running along a coaster track, this is lots of fun!
Also new for this year Is "Lake Erie Eagles" which is a spinning ride with 8 vehicles hung from cables. Inside each vehicle is a rudder that when you move it back and forth, causes the vehicle to turn in different directions while you're spinning around on the actual ride, giving a different ride experience based on which way the rudder is turned!
Both of these rides are along an area that was completely revamped for 2014 known as the Gemini Midway which is next to the Gemini roller coaster. There is also a Coke Freestyle Refreshment Station and a new Yogurt Plus restaurant on site. Included here are photos taken during this event. Both of these new attractions are really cool and a lot of fun to ride!!!

LEFT: The retro-themed Pipe Scream sign next to the ride. RIGHT: Pipe Scream in action with Top Thrill Dragster hiding behind!

A wider view of Pipe Scream. You can see here that the ride's vehicle spins as it runs along its track.

A couple more views of Pipe Scream running along its track with Top Thrill Dragster looming in the background, I recommend both!

Looking in the other direction at the other end of Pipe Scream's track with a huge Beagle in the background! That's the Snoopy Bounce
located at the entrance of the children's area "Camp Snoopy". The Gemini coaster is also seen here in the background which is a wood
frame and steel track twin racing coaster!

A wide-angle view of the rest of Pipe Scream's track.

Also new for 2014 is the spinning ride "Lake Erie Eagles", I do like the retro-themed signs for Pipe Scream and this ride as well!

A wider view of this excellent ride which features eagle-shaped vehicles that are each equipped with a rudder that when you turn it,
causes the ride vehicle to twist in different directions while you're spinning around, I recommend it!

Another wide view of Lake Erie Eagles! Media Day was great and I would spend 2 more days here this weekend,
