Amtrak GE P40DC #822

Built by General Electric Transportation Systems in September 1993 and numbered 822. This series of locomotives were also known as the Genesis Series I locomotives. This unit was one of 15 that were rebuilt using American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (Economic Stimulus) Funds in 2011. It was part of the 40th Anniversary Exhibit Train for its entire year-long tour, sporting Amtrak's classic Phase III paint and is now in regular service and can be seen nationwide. This unit was not actually part of this event but since it was part of the original Exhibit Train, I felt it was appropriate to have a roster photo of it included here.
