This car started its career as a United State Railway Post Office (RPO) car for the Cincinatti, New Orleans, & Texas Pacific Railway which later became part of the Southern Railway. The Napa Valley Wine Train purchased the car in 1987 with the goal of historic preservation as this car is not part of the regular wine train's consist. The car today is a fully-equipped RPO.
