Built in 1988 by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division, this unit was used all over the country until its eventual placement into storage in 2001. This unit was rebuilt into a Non-Powered Control Unit (NPCU) for the Exhibit Train and will eventually become part of the fleet of former F40's that were converted to NPCU's. This unit does provide Head-End Power (HEP) for the exhibit train. Historical Information about this locomotive was provided by Amtrak.
