Amtrak Amfleet II Café Car #28012

Built by Budd in September 1982 with an off-center snack bar with 10 4-place booths on the long end and 17 seats in 1, 2, and 4 seat configurations on the short end near the restroom and vestibule. The short end of the car was converted to a smoking lounge in November 1998. Converted to a "Diner-Lite" car in December 2006 which involved removal of 3 tables on the long end , replaced by a conductor's office and storage space. The smoking lounge was removed on the short end of the car, being replaced by 19 seats arranged in 2 and 4 seat booths.
