The El Paso station's information board. Amtrak has placed these at an awful lot of their stations nationwide in recent years!

This was known as "The Honey Truck", which was the refuse pump truck that was called in to pump the toilet system
in the last car of the train while at the service stop in El Paso.

Looking back at the city of El Paso after departing the station.

Yes, that folks, is Mexico!

Passing a Union Pacific freight just west of El Paso station.

And with that, we bid farewell to Texas and say hello to New Mexico! This bridge brings the train across the Rio Grande river.

Mexico is located on the other side of that fence!

As the sun sets on New Mexico, we continue the journey west, paralleling Interstate 10.

During an extended station stop in Tucson, AZ, the Sunset Limited takes a break after being refueled and serviced.

Pomona, CA just before sunrise.

The sun quickly faded behind the clouds after it rose, oh well! Nice concrete ties though on the mainline!

Going from single to double track, concrete ties! Yep, UP must have spent some serious cash upgrading this line!

A UP freight waiting to go east.

A couple UP Genset units.

SAFETY - A word to live by on the railroad!

Crossing over the Los Angeles River, heading for Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal!

Mission Tower - Welcome To Union Station!

Passing a Metrolink commuter train just before arriving at Union Station.

Now pulling into the station where a lot of construction is happening!

Another Metrolink commuter train on an adjoining track at Union Station.
