AORTA wants you to know about and utilize the public transportation systems within your communities and throughout Oregon. To do so, we have compiled this listing of public transportation links for your reference.

Amtrak offers service to Oregon communities along its Pacific Northwest Corridor between Eugene, Ore. and Vancouver, B.C. plus overnight intercity service to Los Angeles and to Chicago, with connections from there to other national Amtrak routes:

• Cascades -- Eugene, Albany, Salem, Oregon City and Portland to Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.
• Coast Starlight -- Klamath Falls, Chemult, Eugene, Albany, Salem and Portland to Seattle and Los Angeles
• Empire Builder -- Portland/Seattle to Chicago
• Thruway Bus Service -- Portland to Salem, Albany and Eugene; Redmond to Bend and Chemult; Portland to Seaside, Cannon Beach and Astoria (Provided by ODOT/Oregon Coachways)
• Thruway Bus Service -- Albany to Corvallis and Newport (provided by Valley Retriever)
• Thruway Bus Service -- Ontario to Bend, Eugene and Coos Bay (Provided by Porter Stage)

Greyhound Bus Lines provides intercity motor bus service along the major highway corridors in Oregon, including the Interstate 5 and Interstate 84 corridors. Some of this service is coordinated with Amtrak and is included in its Thruway network.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) provides a listing of intercity motor bus services throughout Oregon.

ODOT also provides information on public transit services for the major cities in Oregon, including:

• TriMet serves the Portland metropolitan area with electric light rail and motor bus routes.
• Portland Streetcar serves the downtown Portland area with electric trolley routes.
• Lane Transit District serves the Eugene metropolitan area with motor bus routes and the first route of a unique Bus Rapid Transit network.
• Corvallis Transit System serves the Corvallis/Albany area with motor bus routes.
• Salem Area Transit serves the Salem metropolitan area with motor bus routes.
• Rogue Valley Transit District serves the Medford/Ashland area with motor bus routes.
• C-Tran, the transit agency serving Vancouver and Clark County, Wash., also operates motor bus routes into several areas of the Portland metropolitan area.
• South Metro Area Rapid Transit serves the Wilsonville area of Clackamas County with motor bus connections to Portland and Salem.
• Albany Transit System serves the Albany area with motor bus routes.
• Canby Area Transit serves the Canby area with motor bus routes.
• South Clackamas Transportation District serves the Molalla area of Clackamas County with motor bus routes.
• Sandy Area Metro serves the Sandy area of Clackamas County with motor bus routes.
• Tillamook County Transportation District serves the Tillamook County area with motor bus routes.
• Umpqua Transit serves the Roseburg area with motor bus routes.
• Sunset Empire Transportation District serves the Clatsop County area with motor bus routes.
