Checked baggage service is available on all trains serving Winter Park, though not to all destinations.  Check your arrival station's service to see if checked baggage is available.  Each passenger may check up to three items, each of which may not exceed 50 pounds.  Each item must have a baggage ID tag attached; free tags are available from Amtrak ticket counters.  Please arrive at the station at least 30 minutes prior to departure if you wish to check baggage.

Driving Directions - contributed by Rich Kimmel
From Interstate 4, take the Lee Road exit east.  Follow Lee until it dead-ends into U.S. 17-92, Orlando Avenue.  Turn Right on Orlando and go three blocks past Winter Park Village, then turn left onto Morse Blvd.  There is an Amtrak sign pointing in the right direction.  Follow Morse to downtown Winter Park and the station is on the right.  Park in the station parking lot.

Parking Details - contributed by Rich Kimmel
Several long-term spaces are available at the end of the parking lot, and a few short-term spaces re available on the side of the lot adjacent to the Amtrak lot on the west.  The Amtrak lot is also free.  The city lot is well-lit, but the Amtrak lot is not-so-well-lit.  This part of Winter Park is pretty safe.

Station Facilities
The station is small but fairly nice and the restrooms are clean.  There is an inside waiting room and a ticket agent is on duty whenever the station is open.  If the eastbound Sunset Limited arrives very late at night, however, there's not an agent on duty then.  Station is safe for families and kids and the city park is right across the tracks.

Neighborhood
Upscale downtown neighborhood with many nice shops and restaurants on Park Avenue across the park from the station.

Station History
No information on the station's history is currently available.

Rental Cars - contributed by Rich Kimmel
You will need to call a rental car company at the station.

Hotels - contributed by Rich Kimmel
The only train that stops late at night is the Sunset Limited when it is running several hours late.  Other trains stop during the day.  There are no hotels I can think of right downtown but there are many hotels in nearby Maitland and Orlando, such as Holiday Inns and a Radisson.

Food - contributed by Rich Kimmel
There's a vending machine at the station, however, there are many upscale restaurants along Park Avenue which is one block east of the station across a very nice city park.

Local Transportation - contributed by Rich Kimmel
Taxi, primarily.  The area is served by Lynx busses, check www.golynx.com for more information.

Visitor Information - contributed by Rich Kimmel
Winter Park has Rollins College in it plus the Polasek Museum and the Morse Art Museum, which is relatively close to the station.  There are also numerous lakes around town and you can take a boat ride through the chain of lakes starting several blocks away from the station.
