ATSF 5000, The Madame Queen

I will have some of the history of this magnificent locomotive soon.  If you have never heard of the Madame Queen it is very fascinitating.  This locomotive is a one of a kind (Class 5000, built in 1930) and we are honored to have it right here in Amarillo, Texas.  My mother worked for Santa Fe and helped in the donation of the 5000 to Amarillo and hope to get some info and more history of  this from her soon.   I will have some more pictures on this locomotive soon as well as a better quality for the top of this page.

In addition there is some really good history and more photos on the Texas Panhandle Railroad Historical Society web site.
