In a recent discussion the subject of the Hoosac Tunnel West Portal #473-104 came up. This rigid plastic model can be made more realistic by sawing off the right and left vertical columns and attaching them to the sides of a second model. If you compare a photo of the model to that of the prototype it will be pretty obvious what needs to be done.
As always I would remind everyone we speak HO unless mentioned otherwise. We’ve got some great structure articles coming up but are always on the lookout for new material, different models, new ways of doing things, etc. If you would like to get involved by telling your story we’re here to help make it happen. When you write if you are not already on our “Friends Lists” please type Modelers Notes in caps in your subject line. If you don’t have email that’s ok too. We still want to hear from you and I would remind everybody that our addresses are in the masthead on page 1.
