For all you high hood aficionados Atlas lists two more B&M numbers in their high hood series. Expected in the Spring 2010 the models will be available with and without sound, MSRP $259 and $149 respectively. B&M #1161 an HH-600 was originally #1101 and given the red and white nose stripes along with the Minuteman herald when updated to #1161. B&M #1162 built in 1939 was an HH-660 and received the nose stripes, etc., upon delivery. B&M #1102 was the first high hood and quite different from the other two. It was briefly redecorated in 1940.
David Stickney has backdated the Atlas model to Portland Terminal #1004 and Bruce and Col Tom are working on backdating B&M #1102. Construction articles will follow in future Modelers Notes.

Bowser
also makes the power trucks and floors for Island
Model Works line of rapid
transit cars. I would like to know if there is any interest in the
69 foot #0600 series Boston Elevated cars built in 1912. These cars
operated on the Harvard Sq line right up thru 1963. We would need a
minimum order of 15 units. I have one of their Long Island RT shells
and the detail is crisp and sharp. Contact Bruce for further info.
Island
Model Works also produces cars the Kawasaki Bilevel cars in HO and N as
well as several current
generation Boston Rapid Transit cars. See their full line at
www.islandmodelworks.com/Boston.
The Railroad Depot also offers the Kawasaki cars. See their website: www.therailroaddepot.com for latest information.
The super detailed RAPIDO Osgood Bradley Lightweight Coaches which we refer to as the American Flyer cars are due in early 2010. They will be available in six numbers each in both the green and maroon schemes. MSRP is $74.95. As Col Tom puts it: “The B&M car just needs to have the small end skirt piece next to the steps removed and you should have a near perfect car for the B&M”. A BAR version as well as four NH models are scheduled.
