For those who purchased the BLI B&M E-7's with the defective shells (gold stripes) the replacement shells will be sent to the distributor for distribution to the hobby shops where you bought them. It is up to you to contact the hobby shop and advise them you want the shell. Contrary to past info there is no exchange involved so you may keep the defective shell. This information supercedes whatever else you have been told or heard. Initially they sent out some boxes to individuals for the purpose of returning the defective shells but that policy was changed. Again, BLI is to be commended for their willingness to correct a production model, something no one else has seen fit to do.

Here's some great news for N scale fans: Model Power has produced a 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 decorated for B&M #954 and #1426 respectively. The locomotives feature a Die-Cast metal boiler, separate applied hand rails, a golden white LED, a 5-Pole Mashima Motor (In boiler) and are DCC wired. In addition the locomotives have prototypical headlight positions, pilots, cab windows, tender trucks, valve/cylinders. The B&M models have a common boiler with the headlight centered, arched cab window, boiler tube pilot, arch bar tender trucks, etc. Undec models have additional parts like a freight pilot. List is $145.

JJL Models has produced an HH-660 kit utilizing a Life-Like S-1 mechanism that has the metal frame milled at the front. The High Hood is a resin casting. The frame and cab are stock, but have been disassembled. The windows have been removed and the unit has been primed. You get all the Life-Like parts plus some wire, a Cal Scale horn, and KD #58 couplers. The battery box on the side of the plastic frame has been modified so you can place the resin casting that represents the underframe three tanks. List is $189.50. For more information contact JJL Models at 733 Seymour Rd, Bear, DE 19701 or see www.jjlmodels.com

From Pete Mcgoun, an excellent compilation of the many uses for Future Floor Wax can be seen at: http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html. How many of our readers have tried this medium?

Many Athearn Parts may be ordered directly thru their website but as Athearn and Walthers seem to be getting out of the parts business many of the older items are no longer available. I can recommend another good source for Athearn: R.J. Rennie, 197 Best St., Berea, OH 44017, phone 440-234-7186.

Several readers have complained about not being able to find AccuPaint. Check Walthers' website for availability as well as Bishop's website. I've recently replenished all my B&M colors as well as the 16 oz solvent thru Walthers.
