Reel 1
First comes two Alco RS3's on a camp train bound for Portland, ME.
This was taken in front of the Lawrence, MA tower in the early 1960's.
Three 1700-class GP9's on a southbound freight at Arundel, ME in 1962.
Two Geeps and a B unit heading west, taken off the Route 1 overpass just
south of Biddeford, ME in 1964
Four RDC's at Pickman Park in Salem, inbound. Also, four more RDC's in the same place.
The following shots of single RDC's and others are all at Swampscott between Lynn Sand Stone
siding and Pickman Park in Salem, all in July of 1964.
Next is six RDC's on a railfan extra to North Conway, NH on February 29, 1964.
The first location is crossing the bridge and going past the new station in Dover, NH,
Next is near and at Milton, NH, following is Whittier, NH, then Sanbornville, Madison,
Albany, Conway and finally North Conway. The train then leaves North Conway for Intervale,
and then comes back across the trestle at North Conway.
Boston & Maine A and B units and three cars on the Ambassador at Greenfield, MA
and also leaving Greenfield and passing through the Greenfield tunnel heading for White River
Junction in 1962.

Diesel switcher 800 clearing the snow off the South Middleton Branch at West Peabody.
The next shot shows the 800 with a caboose headed back toward Wakefield Junction in 1965.

Switcher 1222 switches the siding at Kennebunk, ME. This train has Montpelier & Barre GE 70-tonner
in its consist, which is on the way over to Sanford, ME to be used in tearing up the tracks of the
Sanford & Eastern Railroad.

Switcher 1222 at Kennebunk, ME, headed for Biddeford in 1964. Also here, an eastbound freight with three geeps.

ALCO RS2 1500 appears at various places along the Peterboro Branch on a cold December 24, 1962.

at White River Junction, VT.
Boston & Maine and Canadian Pacific RDC's at White River Junction. Also ALCO's 1510 and 1514 with a B&M
B unit doing switching and then heading south, on March 30, 1963.
B&M F2 4256 with a B unit and an ALCO on train RB-1 at Boston and again at Somerville. Also, Geeps on a freght
at the same location.
Diesel switcher 1222 on the Conway local, first at Ossipee, NH, and then at Fernald, on the Wolfeboro Branch in 1964.
B&M GE 44-tonner 111 handles the switching at Saco, ME, in January, 1965.
Switcher 1130 on Water Street at Beverly, coming out of the Gulf Oil Company.
Reel 2 - Boston & Maine Freight and Passenger Wrecks
The first wreck is at Miller's Falls, MA on February 14, 1963.
The next wreck is at Soapstone, MA on February 15, 1963.
The next shows F unit 4265 and an ALCO at Chelmsford, and also Lowell on March 23, 1963, then
back to Chelmsford for wreck and the wreck train with locomotive 1224 and various equipment, also on March 23, 1963.
An RDC wreck at Rockport, MA on March 10, 1962. RDC 6112 and diesel 1565, which was the locomotive on the Camel,
was deadheaded to Rockport to get the RDC's back on the track.
The next wreck is at Orange, MA, on April 25, 1964. Diesel 1712 on a freight passes wreck,
and ALCO 1541 is on the wreck train.
Next is the wreck at Andover, MA on June 15 and 16, 1965. Engines are 1721, 1748, 1718, and another.
Diesel 1208 is on the wreck train with 1721 being towed back to Lawrence.
Next is a wreck at Penacook, NH, on April 29, 1967. ALCO 1517 is laying on its side.
The last wreck is at Clinton, MA on June 28, 1968. Diesels 1741, 1736, 1733, and 1718 were involved,
along with about 125 cars. The freight passing the wreck is led by Geep 1731.
NOTE: All the wreck footage was shot on the dates listed. All freight wrecks occured the day or so before.
Reel 3
Diesel 1225 and caboose at Hoosac Tunnel and passing a freight west of Adams, MA, on October 30, 1965.
Scenes at the gravel pit in Madbury, NH, also the shakers, and unloading gravel at Saugus for the
highway that was never built.
The plow train at Peabody on the line that used to go to Wakefield Junction.
An RDC trip! Four Budds cought just after crossing the Waters River trestle in Denversport, then at Danvers
and headed for Topsfield, crossing the Ipswitch River Route 97, Route 1 at Topsfield, then crossing the bridge
over Route 114 and crossing Route 1 at West Peabody. From here we go on the South Middleton Branch, then head
back to Wakefield Junction over the Wildcat to Wilmington, and up to Stoneham. April 27, 1969.
An RDC fantrip to Lincoln, NH on August 15, 1964. RDC 6125 poses with East Branch & Lincoln #5 (a 2-4-2T)
running back and forth. Then, back on the train and back to Boston.
Blackmont & Haverhill Railroad, with 2-4-2T #7 and a coach which later went to Conway.
The date was August 19, 1962, and the railroad lasted only a short time.
Climb aboard B&M Rail Inspection Car 500! We see the 500 at South Berwick, ME, then pull out of the siding
onto the main line, taking the siding at York, ME for a meet with a Portland to Boston RDC. The 500 then arrives at
Kennebunk, where it is loaded onto a trailer for the trip to Seashore Trolley Museum. The date is May 12, 1963,
and the car was donated to the Seashore Trolley Museum by the B&M.

The date is November 2, 1969, and ALCO 1519 is on the front. The train left Boston at 8:30 AM via Reading
Dover, etc. and the train was back in Boston at 4:00 PM.
Reel 4
The Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey circus train travelling to Portland, ME.
First we see it at Madbury, NH, then at a crossing at South Berwick, then at York, ME.
Another runby is at Biddeford and finally at Portland, ME. The date is April 1977,
and the locomotives are 1751, 1577, and 1572
The Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey circus train going from Boston west to Springfield, MA,
and beyond. First we see it on the Boston & Maine west of Gardner, MA, and next we see it at East Deerfield
heading onto the Connecticut River line. The final scene is at Springfield, MA with Conrail
locomotives ready to take over the train in October 1977. Boston & Maine diesels are 211 and 207.
