Willard Munger Trail
Willard Munger State Trail (page 1)

The Willard Munger State Trail is the former Northern Pacific (NP) route from Hinkley, MN, to Duluth, MM.  With 70 miles of paved surface, MN DNR claims it to be the longest paved trail in the world.  It was abandoned by Burlington Northern in favor of the former Great Northern route in the 1970's.

We will be biking the northern 15 mile section from Carlton to Duluth; which is by far the most scenic. Unless otherwise noted, all photos are from 9/24/06.
