The Atchinson, Topeka, and Santa
Fe Railroad (ATSF), founded in 1863, was another of the original
transcontinental railways. The Santa Fe spanned from Chicago, to
the Texas Gulf Coast, to Los Angeles. The Santa Fe merged with BN
in 1995, creating the BNSF.
