The
Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) was formed by merger
of the BN and Santa Fe in 1995. BNSF
serves the western 2/3rds of the U.S. with 32,000 route miles covering
28 states and two Canadian provinces. Their name was officially changed
to "BNSF Railway" in January 2005.
