Trains - Dakota, Minnesota, & Eastern


The DM&E acquired the former Chicago Northwestern line from Rapid City, SD, to Winona, MN, in 1986.  DME runs about 3 trains a day over that route, with their main cargo being grain.  CP Rail's purchase of DME was finalized on Oct 30, 2008.

  DME 4002 "Spirit of '86" at Rochester, MN, 7/16/07.  The white lettering on the long hood reads: "Dedicated to the employee spirit that saved and rebuilt a railroad, and now shapes its future."   The 25th Anniversary logo (inset) is on the long hood and side of the cab.
