US Army 4600 at Winona, MN, 4/15/08.  The Department of Defense (DOD) has many locomotives for use on military bases; most are 1st generation diesels like this GP 10.

Coors Brewing Co. C989 at Golden, CO, 4/17/06. Coors has 6 of these locomotives for switching at their site and a 7th was recently donated and now displayed at the Colorado RR Museum. Coors was featured in April 2006 TRAINS.

Erie Mining 4211 at Duluth, MN, 9/26/02. This unit is preserved at The Depot museum in Duluth in operating condition.  It was actually used in freight service in 2004 along with another "A" unit and 3 "B" units, to haul unshipped taconite pellets from Lake Superior back to Hoyt Lakes.
EMD GP38-2
LTVX 4201 (LTV Steel Mining Co.) at Proctor, MN, 9/27/02.  LTV Steel (Erie Mining until 1986)  trains hauled taconite pellets from the mines at Hoyt Lakes, MN, to Lake Superior ore boat loading docks at Taconite Harbor, MN. LTV declared bankruptcy in 2000 and ceased all operations in Dec 2001.
