UP 4125 Ivanpah, CA
UP 4125
After spotting
this Z train coming around the hill at Calada and having just left Nipton,
I decided to head for Ivanpah to meet them. I actually made it to this
spot close to 15 minutes ahead of the UP 4125 with a wb ZNPLA. Gave me
time to search for a nice spot. I settled on this bridge over a dry wash.
I soon realized that they were going to meet someone at the next siding
since we didn't have that high green on the signal behind me. So once they
passed I made my way to Brant, to wait for the impending meet. By
this time the UP 4125 was creeping along and getting ahead of it was no
problem. What I wasn't expecting was the speed at which the downhill train
would be running...
