Slideshow Presentation

        I've created this page to serve as a gateway to my slideshow presentation of a fall weekend in Utah. Spanning four days from September 25 to September 28, 2003, the weekend events occurred along segments of four different Union Pacific subdivisions (the Caliente, Lyndyll, Salt Lake and Evanston) and include more than 50 pictures. Broken into 2 presentations to ease navigation, the first covers the initial two days and begins along the tracks of the Meadow Valley Wash, in Nevada; continuing on to Salt Lake City. The second show, the larger of the two, includes an all day excursion along the Evanston Sub and wrapping up with the return drive home on Sunday, with the slideshow finishing up in Milford, UT. (I was running much too late to follow the line back through the Meadow Valley Wash again. Oh well.)

        The navigational setup of the slideshow includes this page which contains all of the Thumbnails from the presentation allowing the user to browse the shots in any order, looking only at those shots that interest him/her. There are also individual HTML pages accompanying  the pictures and links from these pages allowing a sequential rendering of the slideshow along with picture captions and storyline narration. All pictures are in a 900 x 600 pixel format and most range from 125 to 200 K in file size. While thought was given to my non-high speed internet users, some of the pictures simply demanded a larger file size to maintain any semblance of quality. (I'm still not sure I succeeded in this goal.) Hopefully you'll find the slideshow an enjoyable way to see the many picture presented here. Please note that all pictures are accessible from a thumbnail link on the individual subdivision pages contained inside this website.
