Bristol Club
History

The Bristol Club is centered in Eastern Massachusetts, with members in MA, NH, ME, CT and RI. We meet monthly in members homes, to talk about trains and play with the host's layout. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in S scale railroading, and a desire to share that interest with others. New members are voted in by existing club members at club meetings and there are yearly club dues.

The club has built and maintains a modular layout which lives at a member's house in Bolton, MA. This is a new arrangement, but we plan to get together in small work crews to periodically work on and enjoy the layout between shows. There is more information on our layout elsewhere on the site.

We take the layout to five shows a year, to show off our scale and have fun playing with trains. Many of the members enjoy running club-owned equipment at these shows. Others enjoy bringing their own equipment to run and show-off to the public. The shows are always a lot of fun, with enough members participating so that no one is overloaded.

Another feature of the website is to re-publish the President's Column which appears in each issue of the Bristoliner, the club newsletter. This column functions as a diary of club activities, so we decided to keep copies on the website as a record. We'll post back copies of the column as we have time.
