Here's a variety of railroading in central Wisconsin.
The yard job in Point might typically have two SW's together, but this day was different. |
|
On the Tuesday night after this picture was taken, Stevens Point had a night-time downpour, with trees blown down, and power outages. The Church Street underpass west of here (not the Michigan Street underpass seen here) flooded and two autos were left there, covered up to their roofs. The yellow sign warns: Caution , Underpass May Flood. |

I tried some aerial photography but the wind wasn't right and I got very few pictures of the roundhouse and Michigan Avenue in Stevens Point. After looking closer at the pictures days later, I see the white BC unit. |

Church Street has been torn up to make extra lanes, and the rails are being replaced, too. This is the P-line at milepost 1.1, and there's no trains between Plover and Point this day. |
. . . . . . . . . . . . . And in the last week of July, Hoover Avenue will be shut off and detoured while that grade crossing will get some repairs.
. . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .It will be smoother, but the big grade separation is still 2 or 3 years away . . . . . . . .
.
| An orange EJE is back in the area, it's been in Wisconsin Rapids for two weeks and was still there as of July 22nd. |
| The 1561 made its way to Plover, too. |
