Stevens Point railroading July 2011

Here's a variety of railroading in central Wisconsin.

Here's some of the 300 trees blown down in Stevens Point. This is in Veteran's Memorial Park northeast of the depot.

.

.

The 1565 was in Plover, and comes north on the P-line and see-saws into the yard.

.

On the main line, there's a BC loco.

.

Blue GT doing the yard switching.

.

Here are two sets of yard engines. There's two SW's here, and the 1565 is a half-mile west of here.

.

.

On the west side of Stevens Point, the WC 1565 is working the paper mill.

.

.

All these cars will fit in the 4 tracks inside the mill.
But I had an interesting problem with the automatic photo stitch.
Some of these sure would fit into the little spaces between unloading docks. Scroll right.

.

.

.

And there's another tree blown over.

There's an interesting way to keep snow out of a switch. Cover the points with a paper mill felt.
It would make a colorful model project. Use a red polyester cloth. Or if you are modeling older times, use a yellow to match the old wool felts.
