I had to take a different route home, and lucked into seeing a coal train chugging through Wisconsin Rapids at 15 mph. And it's just after sunset and I didn't think to turn up the ASA on this little camera. The train movement blurred the pictures. |
| UP, SP, UP power. I didn't hang around to see if there was a DPU at the end of the train. |

Some cars were unpainted aluminum.
Some month, I would like to have the time
and see a coal train in some interesting Wisconsin scenery
like the cattails north of Rapids,
or crossing Lake Dubay bridge.
| Many cars were black. |

And I didn't know there was a CP detour train through Rapids a day before this. There was report on the internet that there was a derailment at Red Wing, Minnesota. The detour came Twin Cities to Junction City to New Lisbon. I hear most of the detours went on the BN side of the Mississippi River. |
