Rapids Rail Detector .

Rapids Rail Detector

A little Sperry rail truck went west of Wisconsin Rapids (Whitehall subdivision) in November.
The line got new ties and ballast this summer. Maybe they are doing a final inspection?
They had a very nice day for it.
.

Lots of detector heads above the rail. Magnetic and ultrasonic ?

.

good view from the rear.
Decals show:
. . . . . GPS monitored.
. . . .. .65 MPH (is that this truck's speed limit on the rails or the highway?)

.

My previous pages about rail inspectors:

Soo Line Rail Detector 700 white van in 1977.

MOW in Wisconsin Rapids and the CN 1501 inspection car that came through in the summer, but I don't know if it went on the Whitehall Subdivision.

I don't know if these links will work after 2012. You can try to find them on my index page, or ask me to re-post them.
