Wisconsin snow on the rails

Last week, it rained and wiped out most of our first snow.

On Thursday, December 20, 2012, it snowed across the middle of Wisconsin.
We got 9 inches in Plover. It snowed less in counties west and north of here. And a foot in Madison. And rain in Milwaukee.

We had some cloudy days afterward.
Here's some blue morning pictures the day after the snow.

. . . The historic farm machinery was well blanketed.

The Wisconsin River in Rapids was churned up by the wind. A gray GT is coming across with paper mill traffic. The river started freezing during the calm the next morning, when the temperature was in the single digits.
