More unusual locomotives in central Wisconsin

There's lots of variety of power we see in the center of Wisconsin in these last months of 2014.

The bright EJE 663 is back, here it is in Stevens Point (and its in Wis Rapids in November)

.

A Citirail lease and CSX and a CN in Wis Rapids.

.

UP power on an empty coal train from Weston. A daily event, maybe they are building their coal pile for Winter?

.

.

An unusual and unexpected train was moving west of Plover one afternoon.
. . . UP up front, NS, UP, two CN, and a GT

.

The train was almost all sand hoppers, westbound. Just four boxcars on the end of hundreds of hoppers.

.

And I showed a different angle on this in my Autumn colors page.

.

In the late afternoon, the UP / CNW southbound freight arrives in Wisconsin Rapids.
They occupy the two tracks on the east side of the Wisconsin Rapids yard (and have trackage rights on the main).

This southbound has a BNSF and a black locomotive which I did not recognize at first. Penn Central ???

.

Yep, its a Norfolk Southern heritage paint unit.

.

KCS 4800 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, November 12, 2014.
Its two years old, and has 29 sisters somewhere in the US.
The weather today is 22 degrees F and windy (we didn't get all the deep snow like Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula)
and I didn't hang around to capture it in a more recognizable Stevens Point scene.
Thinking about it afterwards, I suspect this is a DPU on the rear of a train? I should have drove by the depot to see what was on the other end.
