Fairchild Caboose

.

We traveled to western Wisconsin to visit relatives.

And I was surprised to see a caboose display on Highway 12, a half mile north of Fairchild.
(we haven't been on that highway in years)

The caboose number is 10943.

On the north side of Fairchild is the eastern end of the Buffalo River State Park Trail, an old RR grade.

I saw lots of containers near the Chippewa Falls yard of the CN (former WC / Soo Line).
(this and many other pictures are from a little dash camera, so please pardon my bugs on the windsheild.)

.

And I drove the scenic route west of Chippewa Falls where the CN climbs west.
I think there were more trains here in the WC / Soo Line days than on the CN now?
This line goes to the Twin Cities.

.

The City of Barron of the Wisonsin Northern was in Chippewa Falls.

.

The Chippewa Falls sand plant has unique domes.
(the camera was looking through the car window glass, and the clouds became more interesting than I imagined they would.)

.

.

and we stopped at Neilsville on the way home,
which hasn't had a train track in 22 years.

But they still have Chatty Belle, the World's Largest Talking Cow.
