Wisconsin Rapids railroad yard work

Wisconsin Rapids railroad yard work

The CN railroad has been fixing the yard lead near 17th Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids.

Some ballast is red, some is gray.

.

More ballast.
I didn't pay attention to what changed, I suspect some switching lead has been improved
in the distant left, by the orange maple tree.

.

An EJ and E orange locomotive was in town for a few days, and then moved on.
The autumn color peaked mid-October. It snowed before the leaves fell, there's an inch as I write this Oct 14, 2018

You may have been watching the quality of my pictures the last few months. This page is all from an Ultra Disk action camera that was on sale for $32 once at Menards. These things are better than the old Sharper Image cameras with the plastic lense.
These pictures were taken under less than ideal conditions, at sunset without a sun, which lowers the quality. The exposure control is quite good for $32. It has a wide angle, 160 degrees, and I have to process a picture to get rid of some barrel or fisheye distortion. And other things, like leveling, because I took these pictures with my pole in a wind. For $32, I can afford to send this camera many places. It works good on a sunny day from a kite.
