I like watching the Port Huron ship watching camera, and on a hot summer day I decided to stay in the cool basement and pull out my 35mm slides from 1977. I had seen the daily newspaper Ashland Daily News (yes, paper, this was before the Internet) and there was an article about an Open House in Duluth for showing the new Missabi Miner. Back then, I was working in Park Falls and my work week ended at noon Saturday. Then I drove the 2 hours to see this new ship. |
