The 1620 Class


USA Trains motor block, bigger wheels, PA-1 side frames before being cut down.


Motor block with Bigger wheels fitted, PA-1 side frames, cut and ready to rework.


White styrene bits reinforce the cut lines. New yokes added, remodelling in progress.


Front Bogie is an 'idler' with loose joints for compensation, Back Bogie is the USA Trains motor block.


Mark Hobbs donated some 2mm Aluminium sheet offcut that I cut to size with an Eclipse hacksaw blade holder.
The footplate ready to trim off ends, will be strengthened with Aluminium angle rivetted or screwed underneath.


250mm diam Plastic pipe "slit" to width to be glued between "Hood" sides
A mitre box was used to cut 45 degree angles for glueing ends to tops for "Hoods"
