The Central Arizona Model Railroad Club
The Central Arizona Model Railroad Club serves the Quad City region (Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Paulden, Dewey-Humboldt) of central Arizona. The club does not have a layout but serves as an information and social resource for its members as well as engaging in public service activities. Many members have home layouts representing all the popular scales and gauges.
(DUE TO COVID 19, ALL CLUB MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELED UNTIL THE PANDEMIC HAS BEEN MINIMIZED.)
The club normally meets on the second Wednesday each month at 7:00 PM with business meeting normally followed by a model, prototype, or local railroad historical presentation. The meeting is preceded at 6:30 with some social time and a mini swap meet. Visitors are always welcome.
In addition to the monthly meetings, the Club sponsors home layout open houses and social events (annual picnic and Christmas dinner) open to members and their guests. The Beat Heat Swap Meet, the largest in Northern Arizona, is held on a Saturday of August in the Quad City area and typically has over 90 sales tables.
Beat the Heat Swap Meet (Tentatively scheduled for Aug 21, 2021) Operating layouts, demonstrations, seminars and layout open houses open to the public are also provided.
