Hampshire-Vermont- returning to New Brunswick. Then to Nova Scotia-Dominion Atlantic (CPR)

Acadia" (1st) From Digby, N.S. (Note: New England States

Left Moncton enroute to Nova Scotia.
Truro, N.S.
August 21, 1964
At Truro, N.S. passed Dominion Atlantic, CP, Smith Transport Terminal-Station facility,
offices, freight & express terminal. No power in from Windsor off the mail-line and
too early for the mixed-passenger from Windsor. DAR used to operate into the CN station
and yard facilities.
Halifax, N.S.
Evening at Station Facilities-CNR/Dominion Atlantic:
- CN "Scotian" departed for Montreal with two units MLW/Alco FPA-4 6700
series-FB-4 6800 series, total-9 cars.
- Dominion Atlantic Train # 12 "Evangeline Dayliners" RDC-1's 9058-9059
from Yarmouth, N.S.
Remarks: Connections from CPR's "Princess of Acadia" (1st) at
Digby Wharf arriving from Saint John, N.B. and passengers from "Atlantic Limited"
Montreal-Saint John.
- Dominion Atlantic Train # 15 with "Dayliners" 9059-9058 westbound to Windsor-
Wolfville-Kentville. Its Friday night and "Dayliners" with a short stop at
Kentville continue on to intermediate points including Digby-Yarmouth. as "New Train
Number".
Remarks: Fridays and Sundays DAR operate an increased passenger schedule to and
from Yarmouth with "Dayliners" 9058-9059 running together and in the opposite
direction with conventional trains-heavy-weight 1300 series coaches and a head end. For
Power SW1200RS units of the 8100 series.
Bedford, N.S. Just west of downtown Halifax:
Sightings from our Motel:
Dominion Atlantic Train # 25 overnight freight to Yarmouth, N.S.-works Digby Wharf
enroute. Power on Train # 25 SW1200RS 8137.
Next Morning
Bedford, N.S.
- DAR train # 26 overnight freight from Yarmouth & intermediate points-power SW1200RS
8100 series.
- DAR train # 14 from Kentville-Windsor-Conventional train: SW1200RS 8133; head-end
baggage, heavy-weight coaches 1334-1337 (replacing "Dayliner" RDC-1)
Evening:
- DAR "Evangeline Dayliners" from Yarmouth RDC-1's 9058-9059 (both lettered
Dominion Atlantic).
- CNR "Scotian" train # 59 to Montreal FPA-2 6759-FPB-2 6859 Total-9
cars(MLW/Alco units)
- DAR Train # 15 "Evangeline Dayliners" 9059-9058 outbound to Kentville.

Power outside car shop and Roundhouse:
SW1200RS units: 8132, 8134, 8137, 8131, 8135, 8136.
Near Shops:
Sseven (7) wood vans, a few with CPR "Script" lettering. A good 60
freight cars in yard, near car shop two 1300 series heavy-weight coaches.
At DAR-Canadian Pacific Express Terminal & Freight shed:
A CP Express pick-up & delivery unit, two Smith Transport tractor-trailers.
Remarks: DAR station has new "Script" lettering-"Dominion
Atlantic".
