Trip to Canadian Pacific Facilities In New Brunswick-New Hampshire-Vermont- returning to New Brunswick. Then to Nova Scotia-Dominion Atlantic (CPR) Canadian National. Doing A Circle Back to Saint John via CPR's "Princess of Acadia" (1st) From Digby, N.S. (Note: New England States Omitted)

We took a chance without reserving automobile reservation-we were number #85 to board th Car Deck-the "Princess of Acadia" carries 120 autos. We were 10 minutes late backing out of the terminal at 1710, a miserable day raining. We arrived at Saint John at 2000 on time.

At between 2000 and 2015 there is always a transfer from Bay Shore Yard or Lancaster Yard arriving enroute to Island Yard at East St. John the CN/CP interchange.

Power for the westbound "Atlantic Limited" backed into the station from Bay Shore Roundhouse and coupled onto its train for a 2100 departure. Power: MLW/Alco's RS-10 8463-FB-2 4463

  • 4231-streamlined light-weight express
  • 3619-streamlined light-weight Postal Car & Express
  • 4600-streamlined light-weight baggage
  • 2135-streamlined light-weight "Deluxe" coach
  • 2209-streamlined light-weight "Deluxe" coach
  • 2202-streamlined light-weight "Deluxe" coach
  • 6562-heavy-weight Buffet-Coach(replacing "Skyline" 500 series stainless-steel "Scenic-Dome" car for Summer.
  • Dunsmuir Manor-streamlined stainless-steel light-weiht sleeper
  • Rutherglen-heavy-weight (Rebuilt) sleeper
  • Red Deer-same as above
  • "Lake Winnipeg" heavy-weight(rebuilt) Buffet-Parlor-Compartment-Bedroom sleeper
  • Romford-heavy-weight(Rebuilt) sleeper
  • Travers-heavy-weight sleeper.

Total-13 cars.

Remarks: Sundays less head-end cars.

Remarks: The above transfer from the Westside to Island Yard usually powered by an Alco S-2 of 7000 series with caboose. Begins a new westbound transfer from Island Yard back to Lancaster or Bay Shore yard on the West side.
