CPR Facilities Mcadam, New Brunswick,
Late September, 1955

Evening:
Light 4-6-2 #2504 passenger from Edmundston-Aroostook-Woodstock, through train to Saint John, 6 cars, two head-end express cars taken off to be added to the first evening train to Montreal from Saint John. A power change--modern light 4-6-2 #1256 to takeover train to Saint John. Light 4-6-2 #2644 evening passenger from St. Stephen. Light 4-6-2 #2626 evening passenger from St. Andrews, seven cars--express refers and headends to be taken off either for first evening passenger to Montreal or late evening "Gull" for Boston.

Freight arriving from west:
ALCO FA -1 #4004; MLW/Alco RS-3 #8448.

"Atlantic Limited" Train #41 from Saint John for Montreal:
Semi-streamlined heavy 4-6-2 *#2396; semi-streamlined heavy 4-6-2 *#2394 coming up from roundhouse to replace *#2396--power change. *#2396 would back to roundhouse for a three hour layover before taking the second evening Montreal train#39, McAdam to Windsor Station, Montreal. After head-ends added to train, #41 departed at 1950 westbound with helper or pusher on the back end 2-8-0 class. Light 4-6-2 #2644 after turnaround departed back on passenger to St. Stephen. Light 4-6-2- #2626 after turnaround departed back on passenger to St. Aandrews. 2-8-2 #5354 freight departing for Saint John, 12-wheel tender. 4-6-2 #1256 on passenger departed east few minutes prior.

Transfer McAdam to Vanceboro, Maine:
"Triple Header" 2-8-0 #3632, semi streamlined; 2-8-2 #5459 and 2-8-0 #3474. Engines would then dead-head back to McAdam. 2200: Train #39, Saint John-Montreal (Second evening Montreal), Nova Scotia connections from Dominion Atlantic via CPR Princess Helene. Semi-streamlined heavy 4-6-2 *#2402 to be replaced by sister engine*#2396 runthrough McAdam-Montreal's Windsor Station. After head-ends added *#2396 assisted out of station with a 2-8-0 pusher.

Light 4-6-2 #2598 freight arriving off North Line from Aroostook 30 cars. 2-8-2 #5239 freight "Oriental" arriving from Fredericton.

Yard Power: 2-8-0s #3442; #3474; #3632.

"Gull" arriving from Saint John enroute to Boston-CP:
Light modern 4-6-2 #1255; headends added , departed for Vanceboro, Maine assisted by 2-8-0 pusher on back of train. After train turned over to Maine Central, CP #1255 backs over six miles to McAdam.

Next Morning:
0410: Train #40 Montreal-Saint John- semi-streamlined heavy 4-6-2 *#2402 in place for change of power. Train #40 arrived with semi-streamlined heavy 4-6-2 *#2457, being taken and off replaced by *#2402. This train connects at Saint John to CPRs Princess Helene for Digby, NS, and DAR passenger connections east to Halifax & Truro, and west to Yarmouth. Head-ends taken off.

Transfer to Vanceboro, Maine:
2-8-0 #3632 semi-streamlined; 2-8-2 #5459. 45 cars. 2-8-2 #5239

"Oriental" freight for Fredericton:
Alco FA-1 #4004; MLW/Alco #8448. McAdam westbound originating freight #981 ends up at Detroit. 52 cars.

2-8-2 #5319 freight arriving from Saint John--semi-streamlined 2-8-2 #5449 westbound freight .

Did not see "Atlantic Limited" and "Gull" arrive McAdam eastbound

Note: Streamlined 4-4-4 *#2929 Jubilee type presently assigned to Fredericton-Saint John local passenger.

Note: During the tourist season June to early September, CPR operate Montreal-St. Andrews, NB through sleeping cars daily ex Sundays on east/west trains #41, #42, "Atlantic Limited two to three sleepers. CP have the Algonquin Hotel at that summer resort. Two trains on the McAdam-St. Andrews line during the summer tourist season got the name: "Champayne Special".
