Cape Fear Railroaders'
Railroad Historical
Center
|

|
Open in May 2006 the Historical Center has displays
on the history of Railroads along with model train layouts. Once you step
into the Railroad Historical Center you will see railroading on a smaller
scale. Four model railroads will greet you, an O scale layout, HO
scale module layout, N scale Ntrak layout, and a G scale layout
hanging from the ceiling. When you further explore the center you will see
displays of a switch machine, photos, timetables, lanterns, Operation
Lifesaver display, paintings, and memorabilia of railroading past and
present, and you could sit and watch a video on
railroading.
Preserving railroad history,
learning about railroading, model railroading, and having fun is what we
hope will bring you downtown to visit the Railroad Historical Center on
the third floor of Fascinate-U Children's Museum, downtown Fayetteville,
NC.
The Cape Fear Railroaders Railroad
Historical Center is sponsored by the Cape Fear Chapter 164 of the
National Railway Historical Society with support from City of
Fayetteville, Fascinate-U Children's Museum, and railroader's like you.
The Historical Center receives no money from the City of Fayetteville or
Fascinate-U Children's Museum, we operate completely from member dues and
donations.
